Series 63800 can be simulated in the load condition of peak value factors, even when the voltage waveform distortion, can real-time power factor compensation.This feature makes the simulation of the load ability is more real, also can prevent voltage stress occurs, therefore can obtain more reliable and more fair test results.

Series 63800, using the DSP technology to develop a unique RLC operation mode, used to simulate the nonlinear rectifier load.It also can be detect by impedance to enhance stability of the object under test, and can dynamically adjust bandwidth, in order to ensure system stability.

63800 series has a unique time measurement function, let users can measure some key parameters, such as the battery discharge time, blown fuse and circuit breaker tripping time and test, such as UPS conversion time.

In terms of measurement, 63800 series can provide users a wide range of monitoring the output efficiency of the object under test.In addition, the voltage and current can be through the built-in analog output signal, via BNC cable to transmit to the oscilloscope to monitor.And GPIB with RS232 interface more provide system integration required for remote control and monitoring functions.

The 63800 series has the function of the fan speed control with the tensile load power to adjust the wind speed, to try to maintain low noise when used.Also has the function of self-diagnosis, ensure routine maintain normal state when the phone is switched on.Protection alarm function contains over power, over current, over voltage, over temperature protection, etc.

Ac load simulation

Series 63800, ac/dc electronic load provides two unique operation mode for ac load simulation test using: general load and rectifier load mode.Points above are as follows:

General load patterns

General operating mode of load model with constant current, constant resistance and constant power mode.In the constant current and constant power operation mode, the user programmable power factor (PF) or peak factor (CF) or both.In the rated resistance operation mode, the PF value is constant is 1.PF value will be set for the range of CF and limited (as shown in figure 1).In addition, in the definition of the 63800 series, if set PF for timing, said current advanced voltage;Conversely, when set the PF as negative, said current behind the voltage.(see below)

As shown in figure 1, when the input voltage is sinusoidal and CF = 1.414, the PF can only equal to 1.When the CF = 2, however, the PF the acceptable range of 0.608 ~ 0.85;When the CF = 3, PF can set the range of 0.211 ~ 0.6.Therefore, higher CF will have larger set scope PF.

Rectifier load patterns

63800 series ac/dc electronic load unique load capacity, and can be widely used in the simulation of nonlinear rectifier load test.There are three kinds of patterns for rectifier load simulation - RLC, constant power (CP) and surge Current (Inrush Current) model.

Figure 2 is the typical bridge rectifier circuit.In RLC mode, the user can through the setting values of RLC, 100% simulated the actual behavior of the object under test.Figure 3 & 4 are respectively through the actual passive load (resistance, inductance, capacitance) and measurement using RLC load mode.Figure 5 is a waveform generated by constant current mode.

In order to simulate the surge current (see figure 6), 63800 series have surge current mode, let users can set different starting point of surge current, so the user can save a lot in measurement of surge current required to spend time.

Dc load simulation

63800 dc load simulation includes four load modes: constant current, constant resistance and constant voltage and constant power mode, as described below.


Constant current, constant resistance and constant power mode can be used in power supply test.In terms of battery chargers, constant voltage mode can be used to help check the current adjustment.63800 series of dc rectifier load model can be used to test the first level of UPS A/D.This unique dc rectifier load patterns, make 63800 UPS, fuel cell, the ideal of PV module/array and battery test load.

The measurement of various functions

63800 series ac/dc electronic load with built-in 16-bit precision measuring circuit to measure the steady state and transient response, measure project consists of: voltage RMS (Vrms), current RMS value (very different), the real power (P), apparent power (S), virtual (Q), peak power factor (CF), power factor (PF), voltage total harmonic distortion rate (THDv) and the positive and negative peak current (plus or minus Ipeak).In addition to the measured values, and two analog output voltage and current, convenient for the user through the oscilloscope to monitor voltage and current waveform.

Time measurement

Time measurement is very important for many products, products such as UPS, circuit breaker and fuse, etc.63800 series ac/dc load also provides a unique time measurement function to measure the fuse and circuit breaker tripping time or Off - line UPS conversion time (Transfer time).

Automatically adjust bandwidth (ABA)

When have larger output impedance object under test, such as generators, without automatic bandwidth adjustment function, the current waveform will be less stable, as shown in figure 8.Most of the cases, the load current can produce shock and influence the accuracy of the test results.

63800 series provides many sets of parallel, three phase, and the function of the parallel three-phase, allows users to more powerful or the test application of three-phase ac power supply.Among them, the 63800 series of different types of load also can do with each other in parallel or three-phase collocation, this can be more flexible, more flexible use of 63800 series ac electronic load, to save costs.
